German-Speaking NetSuite Accountant Specialist

We are looking for a proficient and detail-oriented German-speaking NetSuite Accountant Specialist to join a established European company. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial data, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and leveraging NetSuite ERP functionalities to optimise financial operations for our German-speaking clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, expertise in NetSuite software, and fluency in German language to effectively communicate with clients and internal stakeholders.

Senior NetSuite Accountant Responsibilities

1. Financial Data Management: Oversee the management of financial data within the NetSuite ERP system, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable transactions, and bank reconciliations. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in compliance with German accounting standards (HGB).
2. NetSuite Configuration and Customisation: Utilise your expertise in NetSuite to configure and customise the system to meet the specific accounting and reporting requirements of our German-speaking clients. This includes setting up chart of accounts, financial reports, and custom fields tailored to their business needs.
3. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyse financial reports using NetSuite reporting tools to provide insights into business performance and financial health. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Tax Compliance and Reporting: Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with German tax regulations and reporting requirements. Prepare VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and other tax filings accurately and timely within the NetSuite system.
5. Process Optimisation and Efficiency: Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and workflows within NetSuite to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation and implement best practices to optimise financial processes.
6. Internal Controls and Audit Support: Maintain strong internal controls over financial data and processes to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Assist in audit preparations and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
7. Client Communication and Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for our German-speaking clients regarding accounting matters within NetSuite. Communicate effectively in German to address client inquiries, provide support, and offer training on NetSuite functionalities.
8. Collaboration and Training: Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, IT, and operations to support business initiatives and projects involving NetSuite. Provide training and guidance to team members on NetSuite usage and best practices.

Qualifications

1. Fluency in German: Proficient verbal and written communication skills in German are essential for effective client interaction and documentation in the local language.
2. Accounting Expertise: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong understanding of German accounting principles (HGB) and experience working in a German accounting environment.
3. NetSuite Proficiency: Demonstrated experience working with NetSuite ERP system, including configuration, customisation, and reporting. NetSuite certification(s) such as SuiteFoundation or Administrator is a plus.
