Dynamics 365 SCM Consultant

Project Overview

We are seeking a skilled Freelance SCM Consultant to support an End-to-End Implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (D365 SCM). This role involves configuring and optimising supply chain processes, creating documentation, facilitating workshops, and delivering a solution tailored to the client’s business objectives. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and effective adoption of the system.


Position Details:

  • Start Date: January
  • Utilization: Full-time
  • Language Requirement: Fluent in English
  • Travel Requirement: Monthly travel across Europe for 2–3 days

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Design and Configuration:

    • Lead the implementation of D365 SCM, focusing on the Direct-to-Delivery (D2D) model.
    • Configure and optimize core supply chain modules, including:
      • Procurement and Sourcing
      • Master Planning
      • Sales
      • Cost Management
      • Inventory Management
      • Product Information Management
      • Transportation Management
      • Warehouse Management (simple processes like inbound/outbound logistics, inventory control, and shipping).
  • Workshops and Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Conduct workshops to understand and gather business requirements.
    • Facilitate sessions to map processes and identify areas for optimization.
    • Create and present cases for process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Documentation and Solution Development:

    • Develop and write Functional Design Documents (FDDs) to define system requirements and configurations.
    • Translate business needs into functional and technical solutions.
  • Testing and Validation:

    • Perform system testing and validation to ensure the solution aligns with business goals.
    • Troubleshoot issues and provide resolutions throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Training and Support:

    • Deliver user training sessions to ensure effective system adoption.
    • Provide post-go-live support, addressing user concerns and refining processes as needed.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in D365 SCM implementations, with successful end-to-end project delivery.
  • Expertise in Direct-to-Delivery (D2D) supply chain models.
  • Strong understanding of key D365 SCM modules:
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Procurement, Sourcing, and Inventory Management
    • Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Excellent workshop facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create comprehensive FDDs and case studies for decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
  • Availability for monthly travel across Europe (2–3 days per trip).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in multinational projects.
  • Familiarity with third-party integrations (e.g., logistics providers, EDI).
  • Knowledge of Power Platform and Power BI is a plus.
