Creating the Perfect CV
We all know that creating a CV can sometimes be challenging, especially when you are trying to tailor the CV to the exciting new ERP opportunity that you’ve found!
As recruiters specialising in niche ERP systems including IFS, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and Infor we’ve read through thousands of CVs from our candidates. Based off these, we’ve developed a few key tips for you to help increase your chances of being interviewed.
Tip 1. Appropriate Length:
- EN: Make sure your CV is a maximum of 2 pages in length and run in chronological order, with the most recent work experience being at the top of the page.
- DE: Achten Sie darauf, dass Ihr Lebenslauf maximal 2 Seiten lang ist und in chronologischer Reihenfolge aufgebaut ist, wobei die jüngste Berufserfahrung ganz oben stehen sollte.
Tip 2. Tailoring:
- EN: Tailor your CV to the job you are applying for. Each job calls for specific skills and it’s your job to make those skills stand out in your profile.
- Make sure you relate it to the ERP System that you have relevant experience with.
- DE: Passen Sie Ihren Lebenslauf an die Stelle an, für die Sie sich bewerben. Für jede Stelle sind bestimmte Fähigkeiten erforderlich, und es ist Ihre Aufgabe, diese Fähigkeiten in Ihrem Profil hervorzuheben.
- Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie einen Bezug zu dem ERP-System herstellen, mit dem Sie einschlägige Erfahrungen haben.
Tip 3. Presentation:
- EN: Check your spelling and grammar! These stand out to professionals when they are reading your CV. Mistakes can make a bad impression.
- DE: Überprüfen Sie Ihre Rechtschreibung und Grammatik! Diese fallen den Fachleuten auf, wenn sie Ihren Lebenslauf lesen. Fehler können einen schlechten Eindruck hinterlassen.
